Team Managers

Are you considering stepping into the role of Team Manager? Your leadership helps the team run smoothly behind the scenes, allowing coaches to focus on the players and families to stay informed and organized. This role is a vital to ensure the season runs smoothly and the impact of the Team Manager is felt by players, coaches, and parents alike.

Communication

  • The Team Manger is the single point of contact between the team and the SKY Club Coordinator.
  • Liaise with the Coach's and send out Team Snap messages and/or email correspondence to parents and players as deemed necessary by the Coach's.

Team Finances

  • Maintain a balance sheet in good standing.
  • Reimburse coaches for hotel costs.
  • Collect volunteer deposit cheques.
  • Distribute reimbursement to parents who purchased food for the team cooler (if used by team).
  • Manage funds generated by team fundraising

Schedule & Tracking

  • Enter events (practices, games, etc) into Team Snap.
  • Track volunteer hours as laid out in the volunteer policy.
  • Ensure each game has volunteer score keepers and linesmen as required.

Travel

  • Each team is responsible for booking hotel rooms for away tournaments (expect provincials). Many teams use the Team Manager for this and have that person coordinate and book rooms for all families.
  • SKY recommends the Team Manager books hotel rooms for the whole season as soon as possible to ensure availability.
  • Coordinate team dinners (if desired) for away tournaments and games
